Estelle
Estelle Fanta Swaray was born and raised in West London but this wide-eyed foxy lady with well shaped legs has been a Brooklyn based New Yorker for some time now. This singer-songwriter, rapper, producer and model is right at home with soul, r&b, hip hop and reggae. Her roots are from Africa and the Caribbean – her mother is from Senegal and father a Grenadian.
Album “Shine”, which was released in 2008, raised Estelle into international fame. “American Boy”, the second single from the album featuring Kanye West and John Legend on the video reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on downloads alone and took Top 10 charts by storm all over the world. “American Boy” won the Grammy Award in Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category in 2009.
Estelle’s latest album “All of Me” backed by two critically acclaimed singles, “Fall in Love (Feat. Nas),” and “Break My Heart (Feat. Rick Ross) proves the British hip-hop/soul sensation is here to stay. “Do My Thing”, the duet with Janelle Monáye underlines the very same fact.
