Introduction
Pori Jazz is one of the oldest and most significant jazz and rhythm music festivals in Europe. Held annually since 1966, the festival offers a diverse and interesting program in a high-quality setting. The festival was first founded by a local group of young jazz enthusiasts, and over 50 years later, the legacy is still very much alive.
Year by year
Back in 1966 there were 600 committed jazz music friends at the main concert of Kirjurinluoto concert park. In 2019 the festival gathered a total of 349 518 visitors. What happened in between?
