The Capital Beat

The Capital Beat published its debut album A Greater Fire last year and jumped right into the top of ska and reggae genre. A Greater Fire has been picked as “the record of the week” by Yle X radio station and received excellent reviews as the band has managed to transfer the live gig atmosphere into the record.

The Capital beat is a smashing live band and it has actively toured at festivals both nationwide and abroad as well as performed in nearly every night club in Finland. The band has been noticed also in UK and USA where the college radios have pulled The Capital Beat’s single Salty Fish on their record charts. In Finland the Salty Fish swam into the radio waves immediately after it was published and still keeps on going.

The band has daringly blended some influences from mainstream pop into the ska and reggae rhythms. The Capital Beats sound has been described as a mix of trendy and exotic Helsinki and international stadium style choruses.
