Matthew Bourne & Franck Vigroux

Nobody knows what will happen, when an unpredictable British piano virtuoso, who is known to spice his acoustic playing with movie samples, joins forces with a French maverick sound sculptor, who arms himself with turntables, a Revox tape machine and a prepared guitar. For sure it will be something unique!

Matthew Bourne’s influences don’t run in a straight line: John Zorn, pop singer turned avantgardist Scott Walker and Swedish metal band Meshuggah, to name but three. He teaches composition at his old school, Leeds College of Music, composes music for movies and for big orchestras, and performs/records in several capasities from solo to jazz, rock and avantgarde bands.

Franck Vigroux runs his own record label, d’Autres Cordes, focusing on ”adventurous music”. He produces records and makes music for theatres and movies. Vigroux belongs to the bands Push The Triangle and Supersonic Riverside Blues. He has collaborated with a plethora of artists from Elliott Sharp to Andrea Parkins.
