Aki Rissanen Trio

The soloists have formerly played a lot together and both of them are riper musicians than one would think from their actual years. A vivid sense of space is prominent in their timeless jazz.

Though first classically trained, The talented young pianist, Aki Rissanen has always felt jazz and improvisation are his thing. He has already done a lot. As a leader Aki has three albums out, but he plays on many more by people. like Rick Margitza, Tim Hagans, Jim Beard, Juhani Aaltonen and Pepa Päivinen. He has shared the stage with Randy Brecker, Barry Guy and Jukka Perko, to name but three. He is a regular member of UMO Jazz Orchestra, Warp, Reactor 5, Brut and has a duo with Belgian Robin Verheyen.
