Ruudolf & Karri Koira
(FIN)
These motor mouths are hot stuff in the Finnish rap scene. They have rapped together from the dawn of the millennium in the Vähäiset Äänet (Lesser Voices) collective, so their rhymes meld together with a naturally cool ease. Two years ago they were featured on a couple of tracks on Jare & VilleGalle’s Mustaa kultaa (Black Gold) album.
Ruudolf won officially the championship of Finnish rap in 2001 and 2005. He likes funky old school beats and hit the chart with his albums Asfalttisoturin viimeinen hidas (The Asphalt Warrior’s Last Slow One, 2010) and Doupeimmat Jumala seivaa (God Saves The Dopest, 2004). The Semihot Ruudolf Megamixtape (2006) and double EP Born In The USA (2008) were also received warmly. His next album will be out this year.
Karri released his debut solo album K.O.I.R.A, partly produced by Ruudolf, only last November and it went to nr. 6 on the official Finnish chart. As a guest rapper he has performed on records by Tono Slono, Prospect, Puisto-osasto and Kemmuru, not to mention his partner Rudy.
