”I dreamed for a long time of composing for a band I’ve picked from the best French and German improvisers. We share a love for in-the-moment spontaneity, surprise and a passion to find new forms of communication. The written passages in our music are inspired by the strong personalities in the band. Text fragments in French, German and English serve as a leitmotif. Vision 7 tells a story by linking free improvising and atmospheric sound with written parts and intimate chamber music, French-German Pascal Niggenkemper says of his dream team.

The double bass virtuoso has gathered a formidable ensemble. Its European members have sharpened their fangs with the likes of Barre Phillips, Anthony Braxton, John Tchikai and Joachim Kuhn.
