Marc Ducret Quintet
free jazz with rock influence, avant-garde, improvisation)
The self-taught and powerful virtuoso of the French free jazz approaches his guitar as much as a rhythm instrument as a brush for painting melodies, harmonies and textures. Now he introduces to us his brand new and rather unusual French-Danish quintet with three horns and no bass.
In the early 90’s he befriended Tim Berne and has since been a member of the American saxophonist’s bands Caos Totale, Bloodcount and Big Satan. His trio with Bruno Chevillon and Eric Echampard has been in activity since 1996 and it keeps stronger than ever. As a leader he has made 12 albums. Their scale varies from solo and several duos to the big orchestra of the much-praised Le Sens de la Marche, which is the latest album he has released.
