Sanni Orasmaa
(FIN)
mainstream & modern jazz
The younger generation Finnish jazz singer lived in New York for 7 years and gained a lot of experience in the local jazz clubs playing with people, like Ted Curson, Bobby Previte and Charlie Hunter, to
name a few.
Sanni Orasmaa started singing publicly, on tv, already as a small girl. Much later she got her Master of Arts degree from the jazz department of the Austrian Academy of Arts in Graz. She was taught by
jazz singers Sheila Jordan and Mark Murphy, and also saxophonist Yusef Lateef. During the last few years Sanni has been teaching jazz singing herself, both in Finland and abroad. She sings on many records by
different artists, like the Boston Promenade, Dave Hopkins, RinneRadio, Hector, Waltari and Mika Pohjola. Her profile is included in an American catalogue of jazz singers.
