ISIS

ISIS, a tailor-made project for Pori Jazz, comes from all over the world: Sweden, Russia, Denmark, France.

The band is led by Norwegian trumpet player Hildegunn Øiseth, who has lived in Capetown for several years and is a pioneer among female instrumentalists, with nine years in Bohuslan Big Band (as first female) and currently working with the top names in Norwegian jazz, as well as in several

international projects (in Pakistan and Ghana, for example).

Karin Hammar, internationally well known Swedish trombone player who after several years in the band Sliding Hammers (with her trombone playing sister) now is leading her own quartet.

Shannon Mowday, South African sax player who since years has played in the horn section BURN with Hildegunn and Karin Hammar.

Olga Konkova, Russian pianist who has worked with many international names such as Adam Nussbaum, Gary Husband, Bill Bruford etc.

Ida Gormsen, Danish bass player who also lived in Capetown, playing in the South African/Scandinavian quartet UHAMBO with Hildegunn and later formed the female South African/Scandinavian 11

piece band Jazmyne.

Julie Saury, French drummer – is working with many French and international musicians (currently with Rhoda Scott, Johnny Griffin etc) and just like the other ladies in this band she is

also writing her own music for her own band.

Lisbeth Diers, Danish percussionist – one of the leading percussionists in her country and also part of Percussion Paradise (with Marilyn Mazur).
